Educational and Spiritual Guidance Services at Bukit Pengharapan Bangsa School Sanggau

From July 30 to 31, 2026, spiritual service and guidance activities were held at Bukit Pengharapan Bangsa School, Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan. This visit and service were led directly by Mr. Denny Widya, who is a Board Member of the Indonesian Christian Education Council (MPK) and a Member of the PKM (Christian Professionals Teaching) Team. The activity involved hundreds of students from Elementary School (SD) to Junior High School (SMP) levels, joining together in an atmosphere of togetherness and joy. The school, which has just entered the new academic year, possesses unique characteristics, with 70% of its students residing in the Wisma Kasih Bukit Pengharapan dormitory. The students come from various backgrounds, including Christian, Buddhist, and Muslim families living in the remote areas of West Kalimantan with modest economic conditions.

The series of activities began with direct service to the Elementary and Junior High School students, which was captured through a joyful group photo session. In the evening, the agenda continued with a praise and worship service with the children of the Wisma Kasih Bukit Pengharapan dormitory. This service was conducted with great solemnity and meaning, especially as many of the dormitory students come from non-Christian families and have recently accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. This diversity of backgrounds serves as a strong foundation for the students to always rely on God in facing the future.

In addition to focusing on the character and spiritual development of the students, this activity also paid special attention to strengthening the capacity of the educators. Mr. Denny Widya and the team conducted a sharing session for Christian teachers in Sanggau Regency. This session aimed to strengthen their commitment to fulfilling the Great Commission amidst their noble calling as educators. The event continued with a Spiritual Revival Service (KKR) and collective prayer for both teachers and dormitory students, asking for God's continued strength. On that occasion, special prayers were also offered for the Chairman of the Foundation, the School Principal, and all foundation staff, that they may always be granted steadfastness in carrying out this challenging yet noble educational service, particularly in mentoring students from limited economic backgrounds.
