This organization was first established under the name De Schoolraad voor Christelijke Scholen in Nederlandsch-Indië based on Decree No. 37 dated May 8, 1930 (Supplementary State Gazette No. 61/1930) as a coordination body for Christian schools in the Dutch East Indies region.
Establishment
June 5, 1950
The Central Council of Christian Education in Indonesia (MPPK) was formed on June 5, 1950, by church leaders concerned about the existence of Christian schools in Indonesia. Since its inception, MPPK has been a collaborative forum for foundations/bodies organizing Christian education, tasked with coordinating Christian education at the national level.
Contribution and Partnership
November 8, 1971
MPK became one of the initiating organizations for the formation of the Central Private Education Consultative Body (MPS), alongside other institutions such as Taman Siswa, Muhammadiyah, Catholic, and LP Ma'arif NU. MPS later developed into the Private Education Consultative Body (BMPS).
Evolution and Renaming
2000
Through the MPPK XIII Congress held in Yogyakarta, the organization's name was changed to The Council of Christian Education in Indonesia (MPK). This change reflected a spirit of renewal and an increasingly broad strategic role in the world of education.

Role and Partnership
From the beginning, MPK was designed as a strategic think tank and envisioner of Christian education in Indonesia. MPK actively establishes partnerships with various institutions, including ecclesiastical, private, and government bodies, to optimize the contribution of Christians in the education sector.
