MPK Hosts Fellowship Dinner 2026: Strengthening Collaboration for the Future of Christian Education

JAKARTA – The Christian Education Council (MPK) in Indonesia held its annual Fellowship Dinner 2026 on Friday (24/4). Located at the Lune Ballroom, Mövenpick Hotel Jakarta, the event, which commenced at 6:00 PM WIB, served as a significant momentum for Christian education stakeholders to unite and share their vision.

This year, MPK adopted the theme Fructus In Altum: Rooted in Goodness, Fruitful for Education.” This theme reflects the organization's commitment to building a solid educational foundation on the values of virtue to produce tangible contributions to the world of education in Indonesia.

Three Pillars of Educational Transformation

Hosted by MC Ammho, the event was more than just a typical dinner. During the program, MPK presented three strategic agendas that are the primary focus of development in 2026:

In the main session, the three pillars of MPK's programs were presented in depth by experts in their respective departments:

  1. 1,000 MPK Early Childhood Education (Mrs. Ir. Inge Halim): Mrs. Inge presented a 10-year vision to establish 1,000 church-based Early Childhood Education centers (PAUD). This program responds to the government's policy regarding 13 years of compulsory education, with a target of nurturing more than 30,000 children through a low-investment, high-impact model.
  2. Christian School Transformation (Mr. David Iskandar): Mr. David highlighted the concerning challenges faced by Christian schools and offered solutions through Paths to School Improvement (PSI). The focus is on transforming schools through seven standard aspects, including leadership, school culture, and spiritual formation, to create excellent model schools.
  3. Teaching for Transformation (Mr. Juliono Wijaya Pangestu S.T., M.A., M.Pd., M.Th., Counselor): Mr. Juliono emphasized the importance of teaching methods that do not merely transfer knowledge but are capable of changing students' mindsets and characters, so that teachers become true agents of transformation in the classroom.

The General Chairman of MPK Indonesia, Mr. Handi Irawan D., MBA., M.Com, in his session on the “Spirit of Generosity,” invited guests to view their support as a strategic investment for the Kingdom of God. He emphasized that life is not measured by what is gathered, but by the legacy left for future generations.

Warm Fellowship and a Transforming Message of the Word

The atmosphere that evening was intimate and full of joy, attended by 102 invited guests consisting of the education community, ministry partners, and supporters of Christian education who filled the room. The event began with spiritual nourishment that strengthened the attendees' spirituality through a reading of God's Word by Rev. Fu Kwet Khiong, M.A. Drawing from John 15:5, he emphasized that the primary crisis in education today is not merely a matter of facilities, but a “crisis of foundation.” He asserted that true Christian education is the formation of life, deeply rooted in Christ to produce a multiplied impact across generations.

To enliven the atmosphere following the profound message, a lineup of top singers such as Tina Huang, Herlin Pirena, and Alena Wu performed to entertain the guests. The inspirational songs they performed added to the warmth and spirit of togetherness throughout the event.

Building Sustainable Synergy

Through this Fellowship Dinner, MPK hopes to strengthen collaboration, particularly with the Christian education community (PMKW) and partners. The goal is clear: to create an educational system that has a broad and sustainable impact on the nation.

In addition to being a gathering for fellowship, this event also served as a platform for fundraising. With the spirit of “Fructus in Altum,” MPK invites more parties to be moved to take part in supporting the world of education and instilling new hope for the future of the younger generation.

Sincere gratitude was expressed by Mr. Denny Widya, S.E., CBC, as the Chairman of the Committee, for the presence of the invited guests, which he described as a tangible manifestation of heartfelt support for a better future for Christian education.

The series of events concluded with a prayer and high hopes by Mr. Peter Hidayat, BSc., M.Min., marking the end of an evening full of inspiration and shared commitment to the transformation of Christian education in Indonesia.
