SOE, NTT — The Regional Christian Education Council (MPKW) Nusa Tenggara Timur held a Literacy and Numeracy Content Training for 57 teachers from its member schools on Saturday, August 8, 2026. Located at SMPK 3 Soe, this activity was specifically designed to strengthen the capacity of educators in the Soe area and its surroundings.
The training began with a main session titled Prolegomena Christian Worldview, delivered by Dr. Sylvia P. Soetantyo, M.Ed.St. This session equipped educators with a Christian worldview, which serves as the foundational value in the entire learning process.
After the main session, the activity continued with Kapita Selekta, which was divided into 2 specific classes:
- Literacy Class: Aimed at Indonesian language teachers, featuring speaker Basuki, S.Pd., M.I.Kom.
- Numeracy Class: Aimed at Mathematics teachers, led by speaker Jacob Stevy Seleky, S.Si., M.Si., M.A.
Through this intensive mentoring, participants gained adaptive and contextual teaching strategies for literacy and numeracy content.
The implementation of this training is expected to significantly enhance the teaching competency of Indonesian language and Mathematics teachers. Ultimately, this improvement in learning quality is targeted to raise the Academic Aptitude Test (TKA) scores of students in all MPKW NTT schools in the Soe area.
