JAYAPURA — The Regional Christian Education Council (MPKW) Tanah Papua held the Eastern Indonesia Content Training Activity with the theme “Christian Worldview, Matematika & Assesment: Critical Thinking” at Sekolah Kristen Kalam Kudus (SKKK) Jayapura on Saturday (1/8/2026).
This training was attended by 94 participants who are educators from various schools under the auspices of Christian education foundations in the Jayapura region and surrounding areas.
The training program was divided into three focus areas:
- 40 participants: Kapita Selekta Matematika
- 27 participants: Kapita Selekta Guru Kelas
- 27 participants: Kapita Selekta Guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen (PAK)
The opening ceremony began with a prayer by the Advisor to MPKW Tanah Papua, Pdt. Nurcahyo Teguh Prasetyo, and continued with remarks by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Papua, Christian Sohilait, who conveyed that the role of Christian teachers is not only to impart knowledge, but most importantly, to instill character education in accordance with God's word. The Chairman of the Central Christian Education Council (MPK), Handi Irawan, also provided guidance online.
Remarks were also delivered directly by the Chairman of MPKW Tanah Papua, Pdt. Hizkia Rolo, followed by warm greetings from the Chairman of the Indonesian Christian Teachers (GUKI) Papua Region, Agus Kalee.
A number of important figures and board members also attended to support this activity, both offline and online, including:
- Central board members of MPK: Joppie (General Secretary of MPK), Iwan Sugandi (Deputy General Treasurer), Mawar (Representative of Department VII), and Titan (Representative of Department III).
- Board members of MPKW Tanah Papua: Dr. Yoniman Ronting (General Secretary) and Eddy Pranata (Vice Chairman).
- Religious & Education Figures: Pdt. Herman Saud and Pdt. Jeffri Hindom from PGI Papua Region, as well as the Chairmen and Board Members of Christian Education Foundations.
The training material was directly guided by an experienced team of speakers from MPK's Department of Education Development, namely:
- Dr. Wahyudi, M.Pd., MCE
- Dr. Claudia Oki Hermawati, S.Th., M.Pd.K
- Dra. Herning Widiyastuti, M.Si.
